Should You Open An Etsy Shop?

Yes!!!

If you are thinking about it enough to ask the question then my answer is a resounding YES!

Don’t listen to the naysayers and detractors that put nothing but obstacles in your way.

I opened my first Etsy shop on a whim. I had shopped on Etsy but I didn’t know anyone that actually had an Etsy shop. One long weekend, with to much time on my hands, I set up my shop and told no one. I had one mason jar tumbler listed. Two weeks later I made my first sale, I had 3 items listed. I know now that I got lucky and two weeks is a quick first sale, many shops go months before they hear their first “cha-ching” so don’t get discouraged.

The first three months I sold 1 item a month, then it increased to 2, then Christmas came, by that time I had added coffee mugs to my inventory and had 15 sales for the holidays!! Within 7 months glitter and tumblers and entered my world and I was selling over $3,000 a month! I have since put my first shop on vacation and started focusing on digital sales (which is a whole other story).

I have learned so much on my Etsy adventure and have so much fun working on my shop, I want everyone who is even considering opening a shop to feel the same sense of accomplishment.

If you start selling on Etsy thinking you’re going to make fast money, you’re most likely going to be disappointed. Start your shop with no expectations beyond sharing your craft, having fun and learning something new and I promise you won’t be disappointed. What do you have to lose?

If there is anything I can help you with please feel free to message me and I’ll do the best I can to help or at the very least offer moral support 🙂
